Schools Ministry

WHAT IS HSM?
The Schools Ministry of Harvest International Ministries comprise of its branches in the educational institutions of the country. The schools ministry was where it all began, when a member of one of its institutions had the call to start a group which became known as Calvary Road Incorporated (CRI). Their ministration touched many lives and grew to affect students at the Presby boys and Aburi girls secondary schools where branches were established. The ministry thrived so much in the institutions so that many more branches got established not only in other secondary and tertiary institutions but also in townships. In 1992, the name was changed from Calvary Road Incorporated to Harvest International Ministries HIM; the church base of the ministry is Harvest Chapel International HCI.

MISSION
The Schools Ministry seeks to raise believers of integrity, upright moral lives and makers of right life choices through sound principles in scripture, in the country’s educational institutions in a systematic uninterrupted flow from HIM-Peer Impact Fellowships/Clubs (HIM-PIFS) in the first cycles (JHS), through HIM branches in the second cycles (SHS) to its HCI branches in the tertiary institutions where they pass out as fully trained Christian professionals fit to take up leadership roles in town branch churches and undertake apostolic missions. The town branches provide support for the school branches in their respective regions and their youth leaders liaise with the national co-ordinator to ensure members are reminded to patronise the school branches.

Harvest Festival

Times with the Bishop
These are biannual meetings with the president of the ministry, occurring a week following similar meetings with the pastors of the ministry ( i.e. pastors conference) for all executives of HCI branches in the tertiary institutions at the headquarters. At the pre- tertiary levels, similar meetings with the various leaders of HIM are arranged at the headquarters.

Eagles’ sessions
These sessions are for all members of the schools ministry on vacation, waiting to enter either the secondary or tertiary institutions or doing their national service. They usually submit their contact addresses to the national schools coordinator before leaving school and are informed of scheduled meetings at the HIM headquarters for various ministerial activities.
